Probably the best illustration of God on a bike you’ll see today
I’ve not yet done anything with it but I own the domain christona.bike. However, this is the first time I’ve seen God pictured on a bike. It’s from La Vie Électrique, a French science-fiction novel written and illustrated in 1892 by Albert Robida. The novel was set in the far future of 1955 and features a great many predictions that came true (such as air travel and televisions). The protagonists travel to a village determined to stick with the traditions of the 19th century – hence a God-like figure riding a penny farthing bicycle in the shape of a globe. Specialized should sue.
I’m using the picture in the acknowledgements section of my book, which is now almost fully designed and will go to print soon.
