THANKS! Kickstarter campaign was a success: And it’s not over yet…

On Thursday night I launched a Kickstarter campaign to see if there would be interest in the print and iPad and Kindle versions of Roads Were Not Built For Cars. Within an amazing 20 hours I had received enough pledges to break through the £4000 target. Thank you to all those that supported the campaign.

The Kickstarter campaign has 28 days more to run so I now have to think of some ‘stretch goals’, new targets using new ideas. I’ll get back to you on that, I didn’t have anything pre-planned.

Even if you don’t plan to buy a book (there’s a free one coming along, as well) do watch the video below. My Kickstarter stats tell me that half of the video viewers don’t make it through the whole way. That’s a shame: they’ll have missed me riding around an office on an 1890s bicycle in front of a bunch of bemused architects. You’ll have to watch the vid to find out why.

The video also has a whopping 1.7 seconds of a Roman Centurion. I hired in Maximus for the shoot and that cost me sixty quid. Mind you, hiring a Roman Centurion costume would have cost £80 so I think I got a good deal.

The music on the video is a catchy piano track called ‘Scorcher’, written in 1897 and brought back to life for me by musician Greg Johnston. It’s an MP3 file and you can download it for free via my Dropbox.
